"The process of becoming a leader is much the same as the process of becoming an integrated human being."

Top Team Performance

"Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organisational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results" Andrew Carnegie

Anchor helps leadership teams to achieve outstanding performance, particularly when facing a major shift in strategic direction or structure.

We use an approach which we call systemic leadership team coaching. By systemic, we mean that we encourage our clients, in all their deliberations, to develop a worldy mind set which recognises the importance of paying equal attention to the wide range of constituencies with whom they have a connection -  both within their organisation and beyond.

A programme will usually last between six months and a year and will include a customised sequence of phases:

  • The initial phase is the Inquiry in which we structure a series of conversations with team members and other key constituencies. The aim is to gauge the consistency and clarity of understanding of the team’s purpose and to capture perceptions of how well the team is meeting its own standards and expectations, as well as those of its constituencies.
  • From there, we progress to a Foundation Workshop, where we feedback key themes and challenges that have emerged from the Inquiry. From this foundation, we support the team in building a commitment to what we call a collective endeavour – a clearly and precisely defined shared set of values and ways of working – the base upon which the team will build exceptional performance.
  • Only then, in the main part of the Programme, do we focus on embedding the interactions that will underpin new levels of team performance. To do this, we work alongside the team in real time on real business issues. We also offer individual team members  support so that they have time for  reflection about their personal contribution to the process.
